Nine hours to Japan

April 14

It was by far the most enjoyable ridiculously long flight I have ever been on. The chairs had good quality screen with good movies and even video games, the headrests were comfortable and the pillows were a marvel of engineering the blankets were warm and the air conditioning kept a steady stream of refreshingly cool air aimed at you. The bathrooms were by far the nicest I had ever seen on a plane, they even had free toothbrushes! The diner was huge! Sweet and sour pork/beef and rice with sides of melon, soba noodles, pasta salad, garden salad, miso soup green tea and ice cream for dessert! The stewards came around before each meal and handed out hot towels to wash up with. Aside from my injury stiffening up it was very comfortable and sleeping wasn’t an ordeal as it can be on other flights.  Tia and I managed to get seats next to each other so there was good company too!

  1. Thank you for sharing this. I like travel – but going to a wonderful new place by oneself, not sharing photos, seems less than 10% of the enjoyment otherwise.
Rosemary went to New Zealand a few years ago – stayed a fortnight or so, but on her own, she got exhausted with the driving and everything.
In October, we’re going again and together, and for a month. Much better arrangement…
Hugs to you, your siblings and your Mama.
    Polite man-greetings to your Dad.
    G.
